Blue Heron Chiropractic is participating as Team Smokey Bear once again for Reach the Beach on May 19, 2018, on behalf of the American Lung Association.
This awesome ride begins in Beaverton and ends at the Pelican Point Brewery at Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City. It’s a great ride through Rural areas, fields of grain, and old growth forests, ending on the beach, where we have a great party. What could be better?
Reach the Beach has various distance starts. We will ride the 104 mile route, and the way we do it typically works out to about 107. The event is one of the best organized and supported rides available.
We are currently leaving for training rides out of the clinic parking lot! We ride the Springwater Corridor, or typically zip up the Columbia into Troutdale and on up to Vista House (Crown Point). That round trip ride is about 70 miles; we get to that towards the end of our training period.
Each rider is responsible for generating $150 in donations for the American Lung Association. While some of us get lazy and kick in our own money towards this, others find that donors will readily give to support efforts like this. Right now we just saw one of the high donors on the scoreboard is at $2700! That’s not their own money, believe me – you just have to ask for it. People will donate to a worthy effort.
So, to ride with us or to donate – or to hear about our effort and our team – just ask Dr. Dana Sibilla, our NE Portland chiropractor. For more information about The American Lung Association, click here.
